American readers might want to tune into HBO tonight to watch the documentary "Gasland", which looks at the environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing (used to extract shale gas) - Gasland. The scene where the narrator sets fire to a stream of tapwater in a contaminated area does stick in your mind for a while...
