For that price we could abolish all the machines and hire conductors for ten years, and have some change to buy a few more trains. "But what about after ten years?" Well, we change our ticketing systems every 5-10 years anyway... in the early 1990s we had "scratchies", then we had the stupid "validate your ticket" things, and now this one.
